The 12 Kits of Occasions--July 2013

Hello there!  I have so much to share with you today!  It's the last day of the month, which means it's time for another edition of the 12 Kits, a monthly event where 12 designers work with the same supplies to create cards and projects with a particular theme.

This month we are debuting a new 12 Kits blog where you can learn more about our group and how it started, see sneak peeks of each month's kit, and enjoy bonus posts as we continue to create projects with our "leftover" supplies throughout the month.  It will also be your go-to source for links to each designer, supply lists, and links to our Pinterest board and new Facebook page.  These are all great places to connect with us and find inspiration every day!

To celebrate all of the new features we're bringing you this month, I'm offering a giveaway on The 12 Kits of Occasions blog!  Head on over to check it out and leave a comment on the July kit post for your chance to win.

Now on to my cards for this month.  I was our hostess this month, working with the theme of birthdays.  I had so much fun creating this kit, and you can check out the full supply list on the 12 Kits blog.  I've made 6 cards so far, and I'm sharing 4 of them with you today.

My first card uses the cake and banner topper from Mama Elephant's Soiree, a gold embossed sentiment from Hero Arts, and some fabulous metallic gold twine.

My second card today is my favorite.  The row of cupcakes is colored with Copics and highlighted with a glitter pen, and I placed the sentiment banner at an angle just for fun.

Next up is a simple card using the die cut cupcakes on an embossed label with just a strip of patterned paper and a few wood veneer stars.

For today's last card, I couldn't resist using this cute takeout box from Lawn Fawn.  I stamped the top of the box a few times, cut apart the pieces of the lid, and glued them back on the top to make an open box (inspired by Yainea's card HERE).  Then I arranged the balloons to look like they've just come out of the container.  I pierced small holes for stringing thread behind each balloon.

Thanks for sticking with me to the end!  I'd love it if you'd visit the new 12 Kits blog, leave a comment there, and pay a visit to the rest of the designers if you haven't already.

Have a fantastic day!

I adore the takeout box with the balloons!! Such a creative card and perfectly designed. The little ice cream sundae just pops against the navy background. Reminds me of a retro menu at a soda shoppe. Love the row of cupcakes with the banner. You stamped them so perfectly for us that I thought it was 1 long border image. The whole kit was clearly created with a bunch of love so thank you, thank you, Christina! So much stamping, cutting, and that awesome gold embossing!! PS...Think I will be ordering more stars and sequins sooooon, tried not to hoard them!!

Oh my goodness Christina! What a fabulous kit you put together for us - I am really enjoying seeing what everyone did! You absolutely spoiled us and I cant tell you how many times it struck me how perfectly everything was stamped. I have played around with this set loads of times and have never gotten everything lined up so neat as you! You stopped me in my tracks with the balloons coming off the top of the chinese take out box - how clever and unexpected - never would have thought of that!! The first one with the blue and red is so striking and the primary colors on the middle!

You wowed me with these cards, but then again I kinda thought you would. This was such a fun, happy and easy kit to work with…Thank you! I love them all but think maybe the last one with the balloons might be my favorite! I am so glad I have some left overs . I appreciate all the stamping and embossing you did I know that takes lots of time and x12 .

Christina thank you for putting together such a fantastic kit this month. I thoroughly enjoyed it and still am. I love the row of cupcakes, the way you placed your wooden stars around the die cut. I have to say that your take out box of balloons is my favourite and I need to give that technique a try with the thread!

Ok.....listen up. I did not need to be enabled with the cupcakes, fillers, and dies.......BUT they are now on my wish list!!!! I love them along with the set you are giving away too! Seriously amazing kit you put together! My 2 favorite cards (which it was hard to choose) are the cherry paper card because I LOVE how you've colored your images and then the card with the takeout box/balloons!!! Brilliant!!!!! Thanks so much Christina!!! ❤

Wow, Christina. Your cards are so amazing--no surprise there. I love them all, but will single out that bouquet of tiny balloons attached to the Chinese food container as my favorite of the day. I just loved this kit so much, and darn you, I have a few more things on my shopping wish list because of it. Thanks again.

Everything in this kit has been so amazing! I have loved everything and only time kept me from making more cards before the deadline. LOVE every one of yours but the takeout box is a standout--having the balloons come out the top was an awesome idea! I didn't order the WP9 cupcakes and you have made me regret my decision--fabulous set as is the Lawn Fawn one--I've added both to my wish list!! Thanks again for a wonderful month!

Awwww! The balloons coming out of the takeout box are brilliant! Too cute :) And I love the little cupcake on the stand with the blue background. The first card with the yellow chevrons is fab, too! I really loved working with this kit, Christina :)
